About

We build tools for the teams that get audited.

Docverix is a document intelligence platform — AI extraction, human-in-the-loop review, and a full audit trail. The free tools on this site are built on the same OSS engine that powers the Platform.

Why we exist

Document review at most companies is still a chain of email forwards.

Compliance officers ship audit trails by hand. AP teams chase approvals across three tools. Procurement reconciles spreadsheets against PDFs. None of it scales — and worse, none of it produces an audit trail anyone trusts.

We think the right shape is one workspace where AI does the rote extraction, humans do the judgment, and the audit trail writes itself. That's the Platform.

The tools site you're on right now is what we wished existed when we needed to do quick document work — merge PDFs, run OCR, edit a .docx, extract pages. Free, no signup, files stay in your browser. If you ever need workflow + audit on top, the Platform is one click away.

Principles

How we build.

Privacy is the default.

Every tool runs in your browser unless we say otherwise. Server-side processing happens only when the OSS world can't do it locally — and even then, files are deleted within 30 minutes.

Earn the workflow before we ask for the contract.

Free tools first. If they save you time, the Platform is the same engine wrapped in workflow + audit. No bait-and-switch, no surprise paywalls inside a tool.

Audit-grade by default.

Every action on the Platform is recorded with actor, timestamp, before/after. Compliance shouldn't be a quarterly scramble.

Honest about limits.

Pixel-perfect docx fidelity? Says so on the page. Server-side conversion in v1? Says so. We tell you what's deferred to the Platform and what we genuinely can't do client-side.

Security & Privacy

Verifiable, not just stated.

Every claim below is something you can check yourself — in the browser's DevTools, in our response headers, or in the open-source libraries we depend on.

Client-side by default

PDF merge / split / compress / rotate / OCR / Word edits all run in your browser via Web Workers (pdf-lib, pdfjs, Tesseract.js). Verify in DevTools' Network panel — no upload requests during processing.

Server-only when unavoidable

High-fidelity .docx → PDF conversion uses a server-side LibreOffice pass; AI OCR fallback calls a vision model. Both delete uploads within 30 minutes and never log content.

HTTPS, HSTS, no third-party tracking

HSTS preload (2 years, includeSubDomains), strict referrer policy, Permissions-Policy denying camera / mic / geolocation / payment / USB / sensors. Plausible analytics — cookieless, GDPR-clean.

Open source engine, no proprietary format

Every primitive is OSS: pdf-lib, pdfjs-dist, Tesseract.js, TipTap, docx, mammoth. Your files stay in standard .pdf / .docx / .txt — no Docverix lock-in.

Engineering

OSS where we can. In-house where it counts.

The free tools you use here run on the same battle-tested OSS libraries that power the Platform. No proprietary file format, no vendor lock-in. The differentiator is the workflow, extraction, and audit trail layered on top — not the rendering.

Everything client-side. Server-only when the OSS world genuinely requires it (LibreOffice for high-fidelity .docx → PDF; an Anthropic vision call for hard OCR cases on the Platform).
